Dr. Samuel K.W. Chu
Dr. Samuel Kai Wah Chu received the first Ph.D. degree in education focusing on Information and Library Science from The University of Hong Kong (HKU), Hong Kong, in 2005, and the second Ph.D. degree in education focusing on e-learning from the University College London/UCL, Institute of Education, London, U.K., in 2017.
He is an Associate Professor with the Faculty of Education, HKU. He has involved in over 60 research projects with a total funding of U.S. $ 9,191,631. He has published more than 350 articles and books with 83 appearing in inter- national academic journals. His publication comprises nine scholarly books with one on 21st century skills and another one on social media for intern- ship published by Springer Nature. He is the world’s 66th highest contributor to publications in library and information science from 2007 to 2012 and has achieved an H-index of 32 over the years. His research interests lie in the areas of gamified learning, social media in education, 21st century skills, plagiarism-free inquiry project-based learning, digital literacies, school and academic librarianship and knowledge management and intellectual capital.
Dr. Chu has received many awards, including the Faculty Outstanding Researcher Award in 2013, the Faculty’s Knowledge Exchange Award in 2016, and the Excellent Health Promotion Project Award from Food and Health Bureau in 2017. He is the Co-Editor for the Journal Information and Learning Sciences.
